A website platform, or CMS (Content Management System), is the underlying technology that runs your website. In the days of yore, websites had little technology that had driven them. Today, there are many platforms to choose from.
The platforms discussed here are designed to make your life easier by providing a login with a back end where you can easily add content that will instantly appear on your website. The easier the platform, the faster you’ll be able to publish and reliably keep track of all things on your website.
We at CaddisArt have tried nearly every one of these platforms and have made an informed decision to stick with one in particular. While some of these other platforms work well, they don’t have the overall community support due to their lack of popularity.

When it comes to web platforms, there is safety in numbers.
For years, we chose Joomla! as our primary platform. WordPress at the time was a simple blogging application that really wasn’t as full featured as it is today. In addition, the WordPress platform is completely free, easy to use and offers thousands of plugins (mostly free) that add extra functionality to your website.

At the end of 2021, we had successfully moved each and every client away from Joomla! and migrated them over to WordPress. The overall opinion was that the clients felt it was easier, had more capabilities and more plugins to shape their website they way they wanted them. It was an overall success. The clients were happy and we were thrilled.
As Joomla! became increasingly harder to use, our clients would call us for help on a regular basis. Nowadays, they find it easy to update their content on their own without interaction from us.
